This is a general guide, not a diagnosis. A technician has to look at the device.

Too many startup programs, clutter and leftover software are common reasons.

Unwanted programs and malware. We also offer virus removal.
Windows errors or won’t start properly
Damaged system files and failed updates can need a reinstall.
A new SSD
A fresh Windows on a new drive is a clean start.
Giving away or selling the computer
A reinstall wipes your personal files so the next person starts fresh.
Tune-up or reinstall: how we decide
A tune-up first, when it’s enough
We update Windows, remove what you don’t need and cut what runs at startup. Your files stay.
A reinstall when needed
If the problem is deep or malware keeps coming back, a fresh Windows is the cleanest fix.

A reinstall can erase everything on the drive. We back up your files first when we can, and tell you which programs you’ll need to put back.

Windows reinstall and tune-up questions
What’s the difference between a tune-up and a reinstall?
A tune-up cleans up and speeds up your current Windows and keeps your files. A reinstall replaces Windows with a fresh copy, which can erase your files and programs.
Will I lose my files with a reinstall?
A reinstall can erase everything on the drive. We back up your files first when possible, but you should back up what you can, too. We can’t guarantee against data loss.
Do you remove viruses?
Yes. See our virus removal page. If malware keeps coming back, a reinstall may be the better fix.
How long does it take?
A tune-up is often done in the store in a few hours. A reinstall takes longer, depending on how much data needs backing up. We’ll give you a time.
Do I need an appointment?
No. Walk in during opening hours, or call (470) 359-2999 ahead if you’d like.
Is the work covered?
Repairs have a 30-day warranty on parts and workmanship. It doesn’t cover physical damage or water damage. See our Terms of Use for details.
